Projects & Achievements
A collection of my finest work during my Applied Computer Science journey.
Car Breakdown Prediction
The Challenge Unplanned vehicle breakdowns cost the transport industry millions annually. For the Artificial Intelligence module, I was challenged to build a system that predicts mechanical failure based on real-time sensor data, moving from reactive to proactive maintenance.
I engineered a high-performance Stacking Ensemble model. By combining the strengths of Random Forest (for robustness) and XGBoost (for gradient boosting efficiency), the pipeline achieved a cross-validated accuracy of 87%. The project involved deep feature engineering, handling highly imbalanced datasets, and fine-tuning hyperparameters to minimize false negatives—crucial for safety-critical systems.
- • Stacking Ensembles (XGBoost)
- • Feature Engineering (Scikit-Learn)
- • K-Fold Cross-Validation
- • Python Data Science Stack
- • Handling Imbalanced Data
- • Data-Driven Storytelling
- • Precision-Recall Optimization
- • Translating Code to Business Value
MyBarracks
Project Vision Military logistics often rely on fragmented paper systems. MyBarracks digitalizes the barracks by centralizing soldier data, mission history, and equipment tracking into a secure Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) environment.
Developed an inventory system with strict rules: soldiers are limited to 1 heavy weapon and 1 sidearm. Integrated real-time stock updates with visual alerts when units drop below 3.
Built a multi-role interface using Livewire. Admins manage users, Captains assign medals and vehicles, while Soldiers join missions (with max capacity checks) and track their loadout.
- • Laravel 13 & Eloquent (Complex Relations)
- • Livewire Full-Page Components
- • Leaflet.js Real-time Mission Maps
- • Tailwind CSS (Responsive Design)
- • Mobile-First Pivot (Rebuilding components)
- • Time Management (Extreme focus phases)
- • AI-Assisted Code Refinement
- • Debugging Complex Hosting (Combell)
MentorMoment
The Problem & Solution Students face massive career uncertainty. We built a platform to facilitate direct mentorships, reducing the gap between education and the professional workfloor.
We believed tech companies would pay €100/month for student matches and that teachers were willing to introduce the platform in class.
Developed a functional HTML/CSS MVP and a landing page tracking conversion buttons for "Register as Company" and "Sponsor".
Conducted B2B interviews with Jelle Schuermans (Tunity) and Marc Haesendonckx (Madict) to validate pricing and market-fit.
- • Rapid UI Prototyping (HTML/CSS)
- • Lean Startup Methodology
- • Experiment Design (Test Cards)
- • Landing Page Tracking
- • Stakeholder Interviewing
- • Hypothesizing & Critical Analysis
- • Collaborative Teamwork (Group of 4)
- • Data-Driven Decision Making
Poutrel: Business Analysis
Context & Background Working for the gym Poutrel, our team "KMA3" was tasked with designing a comprehensive digital reservation and management system. The goal was to transform their physical operations into a scalable digital infrastructure that handles memberships, safety briefings, and peak-hour bookings.
As part of a team of 5, we collaborated on the core foundation of the platform, collectively shaping the 19 use cases and the ERD data model. Within this group effort, I was specifically responsible for translating the admin use cases into technical requirements and fully developing the Figma prototyping for most of the admin pages. I ensured the close follow-up of these admin functionalities to guarantee the management environment perfectly matched the stakeholder requirements.
- • ERD Data Modeling
- • UML Use Case Architecture
- • MoSCoW Prioritization
- • Professional Client Interviewing
- • Team Collaboration (5 Members)
- • Requirements Engineering
- • Technical Documentation
KVV Rauw - Client Project
Project Scope & Teamwork For the football club KVV Rauw, we developed a professional digital environment to streamline their organizational workflows. By working as a structured team, we bridged the gap between complex business requirements and a functional Laravel application.
While we collaborated on the core architecture, I was personally responsible for the Team Management page, the Users Management page, and the Order Moments planning. Beyond development, I took the lead in sprint documentation and presentations, ensuring all notes and requirements from our meetings were accurately recorded and presented to the client.
- • CRUD: Team & User Management
- • Planning Logic (Order Moments)
- • Laravel Framework (PHP)
- • Collaborative Git Workflows
- • Meeting Minute Taking & Sprints
- • Professional Stakeholder Presentation
- • Team Responsibility & Accountability
- • Requirement Documentation
Wingbyte: Digital Platform
The Vision For this team-based challenge, we set out to create a complete gaming experience. While the core game was developed in Pygame, the goal was to build a professional digital ecosystem around it—bridging the gap between the software and the player community.
I was responsible for the entire web architecture and platform integration. I engineered a comprehensive site that served as the game's "lore-wiki"—detailing resource collection, hardware building guides, and skin showcases. I implemented the ready .exe game file and integrated an Instagram connection for real-time community engagement.
